So, I plan to enjoy my break so have fun people, we will get back to subbing when we can.
PS: We are working on a new site, forums, as well as a server dedicated to our stuff. We maybe doing a donation system for it or a contest of sorts but not sure as of yet.

Well, the people Rumbel have no obligation to sub, are doing this out of own free will and have to profit/gain in this.
However, I believe if you call yourselves subbers you should take subbing seriously. Having ''a life'' should not be an excuse to lay off/postpone work or fansubbing. Do something fully dedicated to it or don't do it all!

As far as I know, the issue here is not the translation itself, but the encoding, because Pablo is always in some kind of trouble and is apparently the only encoder.
Subbing is far from being art, that's the stupidest comparison I've seen in a long time.
Heh, I like my breaks. I have the time to study my 500 pages lot of Immunology and Bacteriology lectures now. Yay!
We've never prevented another team from subbing the show with/without us... We actually tried to make it as a joint project with whoever wanted to... Strangely enough, nobody answered. Baaw.
And yes, Pablo is always in some kind of trouble since he's too busy picking up chicks at uni.

Well, it's been over 3 months since I stopped frequenting Rumbel, and decided to make a quick stop by to see how it was going. To my surprise within 3 months time not even 10 episodes have been released. I wanted to lol and cry at the same time. I do enjoy Rumbel's subs, but good god how slow can you be?
Gintama is getting close to being at the 200 episode mark! Plan on subbing it until 2018 just to catch up to where it currently is? Bash Crunchyroll all you want, but they're the only thing out there that actually supports the creators of the anime, yet still provides a free version with a week delay. They also do a fairly decent job with the subtitles (and have gotten much better since it first started up Gintama). I'll take fairly decent with a release every week over good with almost no releases any day!
Enjoy your 'break'! And to all you diehard Rumbel fans out there, you have my pity!

I know it's been a while since the English nazi has been around, but please try to use complete sentences, so those of us that don't speak retard can understand enough of what you're saying to point and laugh at you!

I'm up to episode 143 at CR.
The things that I don't like over there are the few grammatical mistakes, the Englishized forms of Madao and Yorozuya, and, uh, that's pretty much it. There was a place where some character kept repeating the same word and they used synonyms in the translation. Bleh.
Other than that, I don't see a difference between that and Rumbel. Honestly, I don't give a crap, I don't know Japanese, and their translation makes sense. The humor was not ruined, as it rarely depends on the translation, but on the absurdity of the context. I wouldn't have watched so many episodes in two days if it was bad, considering I've been watching Rumbel's translation up to episode 125.
With the amount of new translators you got recently, and the progress report you posted recently, it seems pretty obvious that the roadblock's Pablo. From what I know, he does the karaoke, which many people don't care about, and encodes the thing, which shouldn't take long.

Well it wasn't that bad, waiting for sometime for newly subbed episodes, at least I'm not as fanatic anymore. But now I'm starting to miss gintama already haha.

Ahh nothing much else to watch atm :D Stargate drives me up the wall XD All of our TV programs were split in two for the holidays so we're not seeing anything good for another few weeks D:

If you want to avoind ip based blocks on websites, get firefox ( www.mozilla.com/firefox )
and install foxyproxy ( http://foxyproxy.mozdev.org/ ). just follow a tutorial on how it works. basicly you look up a proxy from a diffrent country, and input it into foxyproxy. after that, your ip will seems to be comming from the country the ip you entered in foxyproxy. should bypass any nasty ip blocks.
back on topic: i think ill wait for rumble a bit more. i dont know if any of you ever tried getting eyshield 21 subs? there was one "fangroup" getting subs done. no one else. it wasnt a group with any solid TL, QC timer ect. but someone who hired people to do the stuff and then post it on the site. for those of you who know, im talking about Deimon-high. in general up to ep 140 (of 145 total) got subbed normaly ish, save for a few month quircks like here at rumbel. doable, yes definately, preferred, no. but the last 5 episodes where, under various rediculus excuses, drawn out into infinity. for about 8 months. for instance blaiming it on the TL to only translate ep 143 for the first 17 minutes, or delaying episode wise and releasing the EP anyways, while at the same time, a zillion ads apeared on the website for "cough" no apearent "cough" reason.
so yea, it can get worse. i dont see what all the trouble is with rumble since they get you a free service. things may be slow, so what? they release and they put in time for you. and i havent seen a single add on the site. anyone conected some dots yet? :D

You know you're doing something right when people are this outraged over non-releases. Then again, the rate of outragedness has dipped heavily over the last couple months. We're mostly down to darksunds bitching, and even he (she?) is losing steam. A very disappointing development of affairs, this is.
Anyway, we are still working ongetting all the trolls backGintama. I'd tell you all to be patient, but really, I don't really give a damn about you guys. Which is a good thing, because, really, you are all very unpleasant people. I mean, when your mother signed you up for sports? She wasn't worried about your health, trust me. She just wanted to get you the f**k out of the house, and away from her, so she could have some semblance of peace in her life. Or she could be getting rid of you just to bang the postman (or postwoman, but Rumbel's Department of Ethics requires that I mention this would be highly, highly immoral). Either one. In any case, you live in a dysfunctional family, and I pity you and that's why I sub Gintama, to brighten your day just a little, and so I claim all the time I spent on Gintama on my tax returns as charity, because, really, you need some.

That being said, all of you who have continued to support Rumble, thank you for your patience and understanding. And who is this "Jap" you are referring to. Do you mean Japan? Because yes, there would be an episode out every week since Gintama is an ongoing program. I don't see how this is so surprising.

You know, it's all fine and good to be patient, but this is ridiculous. They do ONE anime now, and if no one else has noticed, they put a LOT more effort into making sure Soul Eater was "on time". With Gintama it's just whenever they feel like doing their job. And yes, it is a JOB. If you won't do it, then say so and shut the site down. There's no need to have it up if you are going to just flake out.
Also, if anyone has enough brains to notice, Pablo has finals seemingly whenever he wants. Which is a perfect excuse to NOT do the work. ALSO, just because its free doesn't mean you can sit on your ass. It'd be volunteer work. Which should STILL care about the customer. IE the viewers.
And sure, it's all well and good that you elitist fucks think that "studying" is better than enjoying yourself for 30 min any given day, but then, there are 7 DAYS in each week. Slot in ONE day at least to do the work you are volunteering to do. If there were any other group doing this anime, I highly doubt many of you would even be here.

I am doing a double degree for a Bachelors in Software Engineering, and Electrical Engineering, as well as attempting to finish the 5yr program in 3years, not to mention the fact that I am studying for my Masters of Engineering at the same time... I guess that means I should be free like all the other "normal" kids to party and that, oops forgot I run 2 multi-million dollar businesses, and yet I still make time in the week for a show I NEVER watch. lol HaNaI my minor is Psychology, and darksunds, if I havent found a replacement in ohhhhh 9 years of subbing I highly doubt I will find one just with a single post. Besides Entitled is being trained atm to replace me, though how well that is going to help is beyond me.
Phukkit: I study because I want more. Never be satisfied with what you have and constantly push the barriers as far as I can.
Sak: I do the shows because two girls who work for me love the show and they are smoking hot LOL plus a lot of the staff are good friends, so I do it for them. As for the showing off I don't do it lol and I haven't for the past 3 years but enoughs enough, in 3 years 19 groups have attempted to sub Gintama, hell one of em even managed a joint with us! (sMi anyone?) and now... we stand alone, again lol. so it is really annoying to see your work be treated like crap, when flat out we work our asses off, never get paid, never get ANYTHING in return. The comments are our payment, and yet out of the 110 so far, id say 40% of them are trolls. So what is the point in subbing a show, where trolls bitch and moan constantly, and we get nothing? Quite frankly I am surprised I am still subbing gintama even though everyone who has quit our staff hates it beyond belief.
PS: Buy the dvds if you are anxious to see the show, or learn japanese, or get crunchyroll, or check out HorribleSubs (they are a rip off of crunchyroll and you can download them from almost anywhere), or if you want wait and quit complaining go live your lives off the damn computer and actually do something good for society instead of getting fat, ugly and retarded like trolls.

I can understand why you've reached the end of your tether - I would have too. I'd say just ban those who troll, but no doubt they'd take up another name. Can't say we who support rumble haven't tried to enforce the words in your PS before - alas these are the type of people who ignore reason an simply reply with a 'fuck you' to every response. They like attention, so I wounldn't bother responding to them again.
Perhaps in the new site you can enforce a 'Hide Comment' system? I know the staff hate the crappy comments, but I'm pretty sure those who like to say good job or offer up constructive crit hate seeing such obscene material as well. We could just ignore them, but that's not fair to the staff.
It just boils down to the fact that those who belittle other's work or bitch constantly are just lashing out because of their own shortcomings and are mostly likely egotistical jackasses that have nothing better to do with their tiny, insignificant existances. Why don't all stop acting like a bunch of spoiled brats and get a life. I enjoy moaning too, as you can quite clearly see - but at least it's for the right reasons.
Don't stop subbing just because some people are ruining the gintama spirit by being assholes all the time. There are lots of die hard fans out there, don't forget about the people that actually DO care. I doubt half these people even watch gintama (if they do they seriously have to get themselves checked out by professionals - split personality much?)

Yes, we could watch it from a number of different sources, but none of them can compare to your quality of subs. Besides, I watch Gintama to enjoy it, and laugh my ass off; and not only to reach the latest episode so I could say "seen it". That is made possible with you the quality Rumbel gives and the great commentary explaining all the puns and parodies. And i'm sure other people here agree with me.
Once you go Rumbel, there's no going back :D
Basically, what i'm trying to say is: Could we please have some more Gintama soon? <3
Or if possible, update the status more often by saying "ok, fans, we've finish doing this and this and this, hoepfully we'll finish that and that soon and you'll get to watch episode 1XX in Y time". I'm pretty sure most of the hate comments here come from despair and not knowing if you dropped Gintama/forgot about it or are still working on it.

I've never understood why people can enjoy trolling. It's such lowly and boring form of humour. I'd rather watch David Letterman then read a whole lot of trolls stuff out there. However, there are some good ones. But they're rare where I read them. :\

rumbel take your time for the releases. ;)
it is a hard job to do it, takes a lot time and effort. speed is not the only thing which count. i like much more quality than speed. ^^
and i love your releases. so much, that i wait, wait, wait and wait and never complaints.
the rumbel staff has also their freetime and have other things to do in their live too.
i am grateful that you guys still sub gintama. :)
so, donīt worry, there are also fans who can wait and donīt comlplaint any time or even never, when it does take longer. ;)
forget the other ones and concentrate on your loyal fans who donīt make such an uproar.

I like the way Phukkitt put it though.
Well, I think the problem here is that the community of gintama fans is not as big as the mainstreams animes like say: FullMetal Alchemist Brotherhood, or Fairytail or whatever, people, a lot of them, can't wait to watch them so subbers just kept releasing and releasing so that they can get recognition with the dedication and stuff.
While gintama, it's might be everyone's top list here, it doesn't apply anymore that we are here to wait the ongoing episodes, the tension is and the need of recognition are absent in rumbel so you don't see releases that often.
Well, maybe it's just me, or maybe it's everybody does think that rumbel releases have quality work and that's why people are still waiting, nagging and some irritated, some irritated by the irritating irritated ones, and etc; or maybe they enjoy seeing all these comments, you might not know rumbel might have finished up a lot of unreleased episodes (lol)
However, I prefer to see everybody thanking rumbel for the releases like how it used to be (i assume that it used to be like that). So yeap, we are waiting haha

I am the only one do file distribution and management of the entire group from the schedules to the site updates to ensuring every font is in place and that the frames of logos/karas match up and that the encodes look good, I am also the central hub atm for all the staff members. Plus me sparing 30mins is like asking for a miracle it just doesnt happen unless there is a blue moon out.

Watching TV makes me underdeveloped? I have my TV next to my computer, and I'm sure as hell not going to waste time downloading talkshows etc. It's basically just there so I have something to look at while gaming or whatever else I might be doing, I just watch what's on.

It's been so long since I last came here, that I couldn't even remember my nickname, lol...
Anyways, I'm far behind you guys so it's not like I care... I remember waiting for SE though.
So, err, I'm in a fansub group myself /but not an english one/ and I pretty much do the thing Pablo does... Knowing how long it takes to make karaoke - which is not that long, I can't understand him. Typestting is pretty rough though, the last one I did, which was for the K-ON OVA, there were, like 5 separate words with unique location and the scene where those letters move was only like, 1 second long, but hell, it took me forever to finish just THIS. Which nobody even cares about, but w/e. To be precise, it was around 2 hours or so. For a pro like Pablo, it should be only 30 minutes or something. So yes, it takes time, but not that much :/ Our group is pretty slow, too, though not THAT slow, but as I recall, the reason we were slow and still are, is because no one did anything and they just were being lazy or busy with something. Thing is, if you work at least a little, the progress will come eventually. If you don't - well no. I understand very well what's it like to sub something that you don't even like, and even then, it maybe once per week, but I sit on my ass and do it. Guess what, it takes me no more that 3 hours. 3 hours a week for an episode. And I don't know about the guy who's gonna replace him, but if Pablo teaches him everything he knows, then everything will go smoothly. Thing is, maybe Pablo just wants to be number 1 forever. Sad thing is, I do understand him because I used to be like that.
So instead of making all those fancy effects, for example every third sentence is devided to three, and every part shows at a certain point... I don't know hot to describe it actually, I hope you do understand... So instead of that, get rid of some of those cosmetic stuff that nobody even cares about, and everything will be a lot quicker. Not to mention I despise your timing, Rumbel. I don't know if you're still doing it like that, and the subtitles still dissapear as soon as someone stops talking, but it freakin' annoying me. Not to mention, when you combine it with the above effect, I just can't catch up with the subttiles and in the end - I can't read them properly.
And, since you love to bitch about someone's spelling and knowledge, I want to apologize for my way of speech and my grammar, since this is not my language, so it's not my problem I can't write it well.

Gintama isn't exclusive to Rumbel,it's just that nobody else wants to sub it.Even if they "drop" it as you say,i doubt if anyone else is going to pick it.
You could always choose to watch the Crunchy subs(lol Crunchyroll).I don't think that there is someone over your head with a gun forcing you to wait for Rumbel,it's your choice.
